Case of animal abuse in Almería
A court of Almería is investigating an individual suspected of animal abuse . He is an alleged murderer of dogs and cats who has been charged after dead animals and others were found in deplorable conditions in his home.
According to judicial sources reported to the newspaper Diario de Almería, The suspect was roaming around the towns of Aguadulce, Roquetas de Mar and Vícar, looking for cats and dogs. Under the guise of being an animal lover, his real intention was to capture them.
This man visited the Municipal Zoosanitary Center several times. Almería, where she took cats for adoption, but what she really did was deceive people. She caught them using trap cages and then mistreated them in her home, where she completely ignored their well-being.
The police unit that investigated the case found several dogs and cats in the home living in extreme conditions. The animals were subjected to an unhealthy environment, even living with the remains of other animals that had recently died.
The police report, which mentions these events, specifies that putrefied corpses and skeletons of what were once living animals were found. The seriousness of the situation led the magistrate of the Court of Instruction number 5 of Almería to order the seizure of all animals that are still alive.
On Tuesday, the rescue team managed to save five dogs and eight cats. However, the rescued cats had serious health problems, such as lice and flea infestations , as well as anemia and a state of immunosuppression due to their prolonged mistreatment.
Animal protection organizations in Almería have expressed their dismay at this shocking case. Some associations have asked the City Council for a list of the affected animals to verify their situation and determine whether they have been removed from municipal facilities and thus ensure an appropriate adoption process.
