Recently, several agents from the Nature Protection Service Team (Seprona)The Civil Guard of Zaragoza have started an investigation in the town of Bulbuente. The suspects are two men, who are suspected of being the perpetrators of an alleged crime of animal abuse .
According to initial reports, both individuals were keeping more than a dozen cats in unacceptable hygienic conditions. This alarming incident was discovered thanks to the collaboration of Public Security agents, who carried out the first verifications of the situation.
During these initial inspections, it was confirmed that one of the felines was locked in a cage and, more seriously, without access to food or drink . Fortunately, the patrol was able to free the cat on the spot. In addition, another cat was found in a cardboard box, with serious injuries to one of its paws.
Given these facts, the team (Seprona), quickly took charge of the investigation, accessing the two adjoining homes where this alleged crime was taking place. During the inspection of one of the homes, a kennel with an animal cage was found, which required a permit that the suspects did not have.
In the second building, the conditions were even more alarming. To gain access, the officers had to bring parasite prevention material, as a strong smell of excrement and urine could be perceived from inside, which were scattered around the place along with rubbish and waste. This scene underlines the seriousness of the situation and the urgent need for intervention.
The Armed Forces have taken immediate action and have contacted the local council to coordinate the transfer of the cats to a suitable place. This is vital, as some of the animals were showing signs of illness. The welfare of these sick cats is a priority, and their rescue is essential to ensure that they can receive the necessary and appropriate care.
