Carlos Mazón refuses to give details of his 4-hour lunch while Valencia was destroyed by DANA

The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón , has reaffirmed his commitment this Friday by ensuring that he will "lead the recovery" of the community after the ravages caused by the recent DANA. In his appearance, Mazón emphasized that if he is not able to meet this objective, he will not run for re-election again.
"I do not hide the mistakes of the Generalitat, I recognise them, I accept them and I even ask for forgiveness ," thus declaring his willingness to assume the necessary responsibilities to carry out the effective recovery of Valencia, the most affected area. He showed his determination to lead this process with all the determination that is necessary: "if I am not capable, I will assume the consequences by not seeking re-election."
In Les Corts, where he spoke, Mazón reflected on his management during the crisis. Despite his firm statement, his speech lacked deep self-criticism, especially regarding his handling of the situation caused by the DANA on October 29.
Regarding his relationship with the Spanish Government, Mazón explained his position, describing it as "clear". The two options he had available were to create an institutional conflict or to collaborate from the beginning by providing all the resources that the Executive could provide. However, he did not miss the opportunity to criticise the actions of Sánchez's Government, charging with a tone of reproach for its alleged inefficiency.
"The most important thing was to bring troops and resources. It means putting yourself above any political dispute ," Mazón added, contradicting himself, when the Central Government offered him its support at all times.
As for the recovery plans, the reconstruction of the Valencian Community after the DANA was set as a fundamental objective. To achieve this, Mazón announced the creation of a new vice-presidency dedicated to Economic and Social Recovery, which will be responsible for leading an interparliamentary recovery commission, with the participation of all the councillors.
In addition, a new Ministry of Emergencies and the Interior is expected to be established , which will focus exclusively on "prevention and response to crises." This new department will also have an important role in "pedagogy," seeking to educate and prepare society for future emergency situations.
Mazón did not announce any dismissal within his team and remained cold at all times with respect to the victims and their families. He also did not give details of his lunch, while Valencia was being destroyed by the DANA. He excused himself by saying that there was a lot of traffic and that was why he arrived 4 hours late at the CECOPI and he avoided at all times assuming any responsibility for such poor management.
