Juan Carlos I returns to Galicia to participate in a regatta with "Bribón" after his escape to the Emirates

The emeritus king, Juan Carlos I, has returned to Galicia, landing at the airport Vigo around 18:30. This visit, which takes place in a context of recent events, takes him to the municipality of Sanxenxo, in the province of Pontevedra, where the usual regattas are held.
During his stay, the former monarch will participate, as usual, in one of the sailing competitions that still bear his name. This annual event has attracted many sailors and sports fans, consolidating itself as an essential event in the Galician nautical calendar.
Since his departure to the United Arab Emirates in August 2020, the emeritus king has made fourteen visits to Spain. His return has been marked by controversies and complaints, including accusations directed at him and his daughters, Elena and Cristina, for alleged crimes against the Spanish Treasury and money laundering. This complaint was filed by the Republican Assembly of Vigo, the State Attorney General's Office and the State Tax Administration Agency.
Juan Carlos I will participate aboard the 'Bribón' , a sailing boat that has already been entered into the competition for the six-metre class. As part of this visit, he will preside over the awards ceremony on Sunday, thus marking his active participation in the nautical activities of the region.
