Volleyball instructor prosecuted for sexual assaults on girls in Madrid

The head of the 28th investigating court in Madrid has prosecuted Alexis F., the volleyball coach accused of sexually assaulting six students from a school in the neighborhood of Aluche, Madrid, between 8 and 10 years old.
The judge concluded that there were clear indications that the accused touched and penetrated five of the girls he was giving extracurricular lessons to, using the excuse that he had to take measures against them. The parents of the girls filed complaints at the end of January and beginning of February this year, after their children recounted the abuse they suffered at the hands of their tutor.
One of the little ones was cared for by the Samur, where certain injuries were detected in the pelvic area, which reinforces the complaints filed. This step is crucial, as it constitutes a part of the judicial process that could determine a date for the trial against the monitor.
The magistrate has identified five crimes of sexual assault on minors under 16 years of age, one of them especially aggravated because it includes penetration. In addition, it is considered that the sentence could be higher for the abuse of a superior relationship, given that the accused had a position of trust and power over the victims.
As main evidence, the instructor cites the testimony of the minors, which was collected in a Gesell chamber. This system is vital, as it allows minors to testify in a comfortable and protected environment, thus avoiding re-victimization that could arise from continually remembering the trauma.
The testimonies of the minors have been endorsed by two forensic psychologists from the Institute of Legal Medicine, who have assessed the credibility of the accounts. It is significant that one of the girls even witnessed the touching of another.
In addition, the testimony of parents who noticed strange behavior in their children was taken into account, as well as the medical report of October 12 that revealed pelvic injuries in one of the victims.
The judge also stressed the relevance of the evidence obtained from the dump of the accused's mobile phone, where searches on porn sites related to the subject of sex between teachers and minors were found. This adds another layer of implication to the investigation.
The indictment stipulates that the accused must deposit 35,000 euros to cover any financial liabilities that may be imposed. It is important to note that the accused was part of a volleyball club, from which he was removed after his arrest, and was enrolled in the school's extracurricular activities programme.
