Dictator Alberto Fujimori dies without being tried for human rights violations

On September 11, the world learned of the passing of Alberto Fujimori , who died at his home at the age of 86. Although the official cause of his death was given as a health deterioration related to tongue cancer , this event has rekindled an intense debate about his legacy in Peruvian history.
An unscrupulous dictator
During his term as president of Peru, Fujimori made crazy decisions. His famousautogolpeof 1992 and forced sterilization policies are just some of the atrocities and crimes that will haunt him for the rest of his life, even after his death.
Through social media, many of the atrocities committed during his government were brought to light and his death was celebrated, although unfortunately he lived too long.
Remembering Fujimori means remembering the human rights violations that marked his government.
Despite accusations and international recognition of his crimes, Fujimori died in freedom, a fact that has generated outrage in the communities that suffered his actions. Many consider his death without having faced justice to be a symbol of impunity in the Peruvian political system.
