PutoMikel

The archaeologist and youtuber PutoMikel has expressed his discontent on social media after the party Vox mentioned it in Congress. The words of the far-right MP Joaquín Robles López, who offensively stated that " children will know nothing about Cervantes nor of Galdós, But they will remember very well the stories told by transsexuals dressed as jacks of clubs with a satanic appearance ." PutoMikel, who is known for his critical approach and his informative work, was quick to respond to this provocation.
Speaking to the press, the journalist said that " he does not believe that it is a personal accusation ." According to him, this is a collective strategy in which one seeks to attack a group instead of an individual. " If the attacks are against collectives, the defenses must also be collective ," he said. The interventions of Vox, according to Mikel, They seek to create a media effect that will inflame people with retrograde mentalities regarding transvestism, something that already has historical precedents in Spain.
PutoMikel He also referred to what he considers a rhetorical method observed in the politics of Vox. He described how multiple accusations are thrown around in order to determine which ones will resonate with public opinion, a phenomenon he directly compared to the practices of Donald Trump. " One of the rhetorical points they use is to associate the collective LGTBI with a danger to children; this is a practice copied from the United States, where it has given rise to anti-drag laws in several states ." For him, this type of rhetoric is an attempt to demonize the community LGTBI, especially in relation to childhood, an approach that he considers very dangerous and visceral.
Mikel stressed the importance of inclusive education and the representation of the history of the collective LGTBIQ+ in the classrooms. In his book Sodomitas, vagas y maleantes. Historia de la España desviada de Atapuerca a Chueca, published in May by the publishing house  Planeta, Mikel embarks on a deep exploration of history LGTBI in Spain, long before the current acronyms existed. "History has been a compulsory subject since the end of the 19th century because part of the formation of the national spirit is to teach that we have a common history. However, this is often biased," he reflected in an interview during the festival. Memefest from Barcelona, where he spoke about the need for a more inclusive history.
